A Mentone man is facing charges after police allege he used counterfeit bills at two locations.

Franklin Lamar Sherrod, 33, of 2774 S. CR 900W, Mentone, is facing two counts of counterfeiting and two counts of theft.

Police say Sherrod used a fake $20 bill to pay for a car wash in Warsaw and a fake $20 at a gas station in Mentone.

Police were able to trace the bills back to Sherrod after employees at both locations were able to identity a black Ford Explorer, registered to Sherrod.

Sherrod was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Thursday and bonded out.
