Ralph DeWayne Wilson, 71, Pierceton, passed away at 8:28 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, in his residence. 

He was born Jan. 5, 1946, in Batesville, to Charles and Beulah Johnson Sparks. 

He was a 20-year resident of the Barbee Lake area of Pierceton. A retired General Motors employee, he had 25 years of service from 1972 to 1998.

He was united in marriage to Esther Catherine Farmer in Anderson on June 24, 1966.

Ralph was an avid hunter. He loved fishing and camping and enjoyed tinkering in his garage. He was a lover of all animals, with a special fondness for all dogs he had throughout his entire life and his current dog, Cooper. However, his wife was his greatest joy in life, along with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Ralph was always so family-oriented and treasured moments spent with all of his family.

Survivors include his wife, Esther Catherine Wilson, Pierceton; son, Alvin (spouse Stephanie) Wilson, Larwill; daughter, Winona (spouse Jeff) Teusch, Churubusco; sister, Diane Vanbuskirk, Anderson; brother, Joe Lakey, Monticello; grandchildren: Kailee Wilson, Larwill; Brody (fiancée Shelby Rosencrans) Wilson, Shirley; Caleb Teusch, Muncie; and Cody Teusch, Fort Wayne; and great-grandchildren: Emma, Knox and Nash. 

He was preceded by brothers Les and James Johnson and a sister, Connie Hernandez.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at the funeral chapel with Dr. Edmund Pat Carter officiating. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pierceton.
