Tri Kappa, Alpha Lambda Associate Chapter

Kim Hensley, member of the Alpha Lambda associate chapter of Tri Kappa, Warsaw, has been appointed to chair the chapters and charters committee for Kappa Kappa Kappa on the state level.

Hensley’s responsibilities will include helping Indiana chapters stay vibrant by serving their communities.

Prior to this position she served at the state level as Province Ten officer, and on the fine arts, nominating and scholarship committees. Locally, she served on the board as secretary, vice president and twice as president.

Hensley was initiated in 1992 and co-chaired the first pumpkin painting fundraiser.

Tri Kappa is a philanthropic organization donating approximately $1.5 million annually statewide. Kappa Kappa Kappa in Indiana has nearly 9,000 members, 146 active chapters, and 114 associate chapters.

Singles Meeting Friends

Two tables of friends visited and played euchre at the group’s meeting Aug. 9. Some at the gathering also learned a new game, ponytail canasta.

Upcoming events discussed include Bourbon/ Triton Summer Fest, which continues through Sunday; CarToons by the River Fun Fest in North Manchester, which ends today; and the PowWow at Morches Park in Columbia City, which ends today.

Singles are welcome to join the group between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Wednesdays at Martin’s Super Market, Warsaw. Those who don’t want to eat first can pick up something from the deli before they join the gathering.

The group also meets at Martin’s the second Friday of every month for game night.



Wednesday Night Bridge Group

The group had eight tables Aug. 9, with Janet and John Wagley as hostess and host.

Winners were Irene Clay, Judy Stewart, Grant Magner, Joan Earhart, Annette Magner, Jan Chiddister, Jerry  Metz, Joyce Metz and Joyce Latta.



Pizza King Bridge Group

The Pizza King bridge group played on Aug. 10 with Evelyn Marsh as hostess.   

Winners were Elaine Tripp and Mary Eherenman.

The group meets at 9:45 a.m. Thursdays. All bridge players are welcome.



North Webster Community Center SPEC

NORTH WEBSTER — Bridge results from the Senior Prime Enrichment Center have been announced:

Aug. 8 — Mary Kay Roby, first, and Dick Roby, second.

Aug. 10 — Suzi Wilt, first, and Jan Hodson, second.



Wednesday Afternoon Ladies Bridge

LEESBURG — The group gathered Aug. 9 at Tippecanoe Lake Country Club.

Winners were Mary Morgan and Ven Endsley.



Four Seasons Ladies Bridge

The group got together Aug. 9 at the Great Wall, Warsaw, with Maxine Harris as hostess.

Winners were Judy Stewart, Dorothy Sweeny, Virginia Horn and Liz Frazzetta.
