3rd Suspect Arrested In Storage Unit Thefts

A third man was arrested Thursday in connection with a series of storage unit thefts across Kosciusko County.
Scotty Allen Poe, 18, of 600 Oldfather St., Warsaw, is facing one count each of burglary, theft and forgery.
Between June 27 and Aug. 4, multiple police departments responded to break-ins at different storage units.
Among the items taken was a checkbook from one of the victims, according to court records.
Police traced a forged check for $280 to Poe.
Police say Poe admitted to breaking the locks off the units and stealing items.
Other items stolen included guns, electronic equipment, a sewing machine, speakers and DirecTV equipment.
Poe told police he had broken into the units with Frank McGuire and another man.
Police say Poe admitted to selling some of the items at pawn stores.
McGuire was arrested Wednesday. Also arrested in connection with the thefts Wednesday was Jake Waddle.
A total of five men are implicated in court records in connection with the thefts. No additional arrests have been made as of press time this morning.
Poe was taken to the Kosciusko County Jail and initial bond was set at $10,250.
