Two men have been arrested and one more is being sought in a series of break-ins and thefts from storage units.

Franklin Troy McGuire, 33, of 2889 S. Country Club?Road, Warsaw, and Jacob J.?Waddle, 38, of 208 N. Poplar St., Silver Lake, were arrested Wednesday and charged with multiple counts of thefts.

Police from multiple agencies began responding to a series of thefts from storage units beginning June 27, according to court records.

A renter reported four .22 rifles stolen from his unit. On July 4, another renter reported his storage unit lock had been cut and items totaling $5,185.69 were taken.

On July 18, a third storage unit owner reported a check was stolen that was then forged and cashed for $280.

On Aug. 4, a fourth person reported locks being cut off the storage units and electronic devices stolen.

Police traced the stolen check to an informant who admitted to forging and cashing the check.

The informant told police he went with McGuire and the third suspect to units to steal the items. A warrant has been issued for the third man.

The informant took police around the county to show them where he broke into the units and admitted to cutting the locks.

The informant admitted to selling some of the items at a pawn shop and that he broke the locks off most of the units they broke into.

Police pulled security  footage of the Aug. 4 heist. The footage showed McGuire and Waddle with a fourth man involved in the break-in.

No warrant was active for the fourth man or the informant as of press time this morning.

McGuire and Waddle were arrested Wednesday evening and taken to the Kosciusko County Jail on a $10,250 bond each.
