A community meal will be offered in the gymnasium at Sacred Heart Church from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
This month’s meal will feature spaghetti, salad, breadsticks, fruit and a variety of desserts. The meal is provided and served by the Knights of Columbus and Sacred Heart parishioners.
There is no charge for the meal. Everyone is welcome.

Camp Meeting Aug. 14-18 Near Pierceton
Free United Baptist Church is having camp meetings Aug. 14-18.
Meetings begin at 6 p.m. and will include singing, preaching and food. Everyone is welcome to come worship and fellowship.
The church is 4 miles south of Pierceton.
Tenderloin, Fish Dinner Aug. 19 In Webster
NORTH WEBSTER — The annual Dan’s hand-breaded tenderloin and fish dinner is planned Aug. 19 at ?North Webster United Methodist Church.
The all-you-can-eat meal will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Presale tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for children 6-12. Tickets at the door are $10 for adults and $6 at the door. Children 5 and younger are free.
Presale tickets are available at the church office from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Proceeds from the meal will benefit church missions projects, including free community meals, the local food pantry, Beaman Home and the Wawasee Boomerang Back Pack program.
The church is at 7822 E. Epworth Forest Road.
Women’s Retreat Sept. 23 At First Christian
The women’s ministry of First Christian Church is planning a women’s retreat Sept. 23.
Betty Gray, Christian speaker and dramatist, will perform a drama of Rahab from the book of Joshua. Her daughter, Love Lockman, will deliver a message on the day’s theme, “Transformation.”
The retreat will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 115 Park Ridge Drive, Warsaw. It will include a light breakfast from 9 to 9:30 a.m., a worship team and a box lunch. In addition, a jewelry sale will benefit scholarhips to a Christian college.
Cost for the retreat is $25; registration ends Sept. 3.

‘Mark Twain’ Coming To Calvary Connects
SYRACUSE — Mark Twain impersonator Ray Armstrong will present “Mark Twain 1906” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 23 at Calvary United Methodist Church.
The evening is part of the Calvary Connects series, a forum of sharing open to the community. Refreshments will be provided.
The church also has a service at 10 a.m. Sunday that combines traditional and contemporary worship.

Homecoming Revival Planned Aug. 21-27
Pentecostal Lighthouse is planning a homecoming revival Aug. 21-27.
Services will begin at 7 p.m. Aug. 21-26 and 10 a.m. Aug. 27. Dinner will follow the Aug. 27 service.
The homecoming revival is an opportunity for fellowship and to hear the Word of God.

Bremen UMC Welcomes New Pastor
BREMEN — Lynn Breeden is the new pastor at Bremen United Methodist Church.
Breeden, also known as the “Barefoot Pastor,” is former co-pastor at Lamb’s Chapel, LaPorte. Each autumn she leads a women’s retreat, The Chocolate Getaway, at Camp Ray Bird, South Bend. This year’s retreat is Oct. 20-22.
“I believe that our church’s mission is to provide a place of community where people can gather not only for worship and to take the next step in their faith journey, but can share a meal, their stories and where those of all ages can discover what it means to do life together,” Breeden said.
The church is beginning a contemporary service at 10 a.m. Sept. 10. The traditional service will move to 8:30 a.m.

Man Who Lost Family In Flood To Speak
BURKET — A man whose wife and four children were killed in a flash flood will speak next week at Burket United Methodist Church.
In 2003, Robert Rogers and his family were on their way home from a wedding in Wichita, Kan., when a 6-foot wall of water filled their van and swept it off the highway. He was the only survivor. Rogers resigned from his career as an electrical engineer and began to share how God’s grace brought him through the ordeal.
The Fort Wayne man will share a message of living life with no regrets through his words and original piano music.
The service will begin at 7 p.m. Friday. The church is at 102 S. Market St., Burket.
