Chicken, Pit Taters Barbecue On Saturday
Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church will have a Nelson’s Catering chicken and Pit Taters barbecue Saturday.
The chicken and potatoes will be available from 10:30 a.m. until sold out in the Owen’s Center Street parking lot. Presale ticket holders must pick up their chicken before noon.
Cost is $6.50 for half a chicken, $3.50 for Pit Taters.
Revival Aug. 6-12 At Highway To Heaven
Evangelist Garry Ferguson from Kentucky will be at God’s Highway to Heaven Church from Sunday through Aug. 12.
Homecoming is planned at 11 a.m. Sunday. A second Sunday service will be at 6 p.m. Services Monday through Saturday will be at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Living Word To Sing At Lakeside Service
LEESBURG — The Living Word will be the guest musicians at Leesburg United Methodist Church’s lakeside service this weekend.
The gospel group, in its 25th year, began at North Webster Church of the Brethren. Today the members come from five congregations but “joyfully unite to sing praises to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Members are Ann Lohman, Scott Trojan, Dick Sutton, Forest Boesenberg, Cheryl Spickelmier and Annie Mock.
The service begins at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at Patona Bay on Tippecanoe Lake. Guests may come by boat, kayak or canoe and anchor in front of Patona Bay. Those who join the group on land should bring a chair. If it rains, the service will be moved to the boathouse.
Leesburg UMC also has a service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at its building in Leesburg.
Southern Raised Sunday At Riverview
TIPPECANOE — Southern Raised of Branson, Mo., will give a gospel concert Sunday at Riverview Community Church.
Southern Raised blends classical with bluegrass — “Beethoven’s Fifth like never before.” The award-winning group features siblings Lindsay on bass, Sarah on banjo, Emily on mandolin and violin, and Matthew on guitar. They have been featured on RFD TV’s “Gospel Music Showcase” hosted by Guy Penrod.
The concert will begin at 6 p.m. at the church, which is at 3780 Ind. 110, Tippecanoe. A love offering will be collected.

Free Ice Cream Social, Concert Saturday
SILVER LAKE — A free ice cream social is planned for 6 p.m. Saturday at South Pleasant United Methodist Church.
Everyone is invited for hot dogs, homemade ice cream and other desserts.
God’s All Community Choir will give a free gospel concert at 6:30 p.m. A gathering of the Christian singles group will follow.

Homecoming Revival Planned Aug. 21-27
Pentecostal Lighthouse is planning a homecoming revival Aug. 21-27.
Services will begin at 7 p.m. Aug. 21-26 and 10 a.m. Aug. 27. Dinner will follow the Aug. 27 service.
The homecoming revival is an opportunity for fellowship and to hear the Word of God.

Missionary To Haiti Coming To Dutchtown
Dutchtown Brethren Church will welcome Pastor Dave Stockeland and his wife, Ceres, from Haiti in the Sunday worship service.
Stockeland has been training Haitian pastors for many years and will share some of his experiences. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. A fellowship time and carry-in dinner will follow the service. Everyone is welcome.
The church is on CR 300N at CR 400E one-half mile east of Chapman Lake.
Man Who Lost Family In Flood To Speak
BURKET — A man whose wife and four children were killed in a flash flood will speak next week at Burket United Methodist Church.
In 2003, Robert Rogers and his family were on their way home from a wedding in Wichita, Kan., when a 6-foot wall of water filled their van and swept it off the highway. He was the only survivor. Rogers resigned from his career as an electrical engineer and began to share how God’s grace brought him through the ordeal.
The Fort Wayne man will share a message of living life with no regrets through his words and original piano music.
The service will begin at 7 p.m. Aug. 11. The church is at 102 S. Market St., Burket.
