Taco Jalisco Food Truck Wins Taco War

Taco Jalisco Food Truck of Warsaw received more than 360 votes to secure the title of 2017 Best Taco in Kosciusko County, according to the county convention and visitor’s bureau.

The business now advances to the regional competition against winners from six other counties with the hopes of being crowned Best Taco in “Indiana’s Cool North.”

Coming in second in the county-level contest was Taqueria El Comal and third place went to La Troje Mexican Restaurant & Bar, both of Warsaw.

Voting for the regional round will begin at noon Friday.

The other six restaurants that will vie for Best Taco in Indiana’s Cool North are Mila’s Mini Market in Plymouth, Woodfire Meat Market and Deli in Valparaiso, Cabos Ice Cream Shop & Café in Michigan City, Los Aces Mexican Food in South Bend, Los Primos in Goshen and Courtside Restaurant Lounge in LaGrange.

The regional round concludes Aug. 14 at noon.

Voters can log in daily to vote. Voters can keep checking the website and Indiana’s Cool North social media pages for a chance to win prizes throughout the process. Voters are encouraged to sign in and vote each day for a chance to win the grand prize of a $25 gift certificate to each of the seven restaurants participating in the regional round. This prize is sponsored by Indiana’s Cool North.

The Kosciusko County Convention and Visitors Bureau is partnering with WIOE 101.1 FM radio for a chance to win a 20-minute helicopter ride in “Chopper 101” for somebody who votes for Taco Jalisco Food Truck in the regional round.

Indiana’s Cool North Taco Wars is an initiative of the Northern Indiana Tourism Development Commission and its member convention and visitor bureaus in Porter, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Marshall, Kosciusko, Elkhart and LaGrange counties.
