Jensen To Play For Indiana Wesleyan
By Staff Report-
Jensen signed his letter of intent Friday to attend Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion and be part of its inaugural team.
Jensen sat out his sophomore year at WCHS because of concussions he suffered while playing as a freshman. He returned for his junior year, and started the greatest two-year stretch any Tiger quarterback has ever had.
In those two seasons, Jensen completed more passes (312) and attempted more passes (608) for more yards (4,218) and for more touchdowns (42) than any other quarterback in program history. That includes single-season records for completions (179), attempts (358) and yards (2,174) as a junior in 2015, and touchdowns (25) as a senior in 2016.
He leaves Warsaw holding the single-game records for completions, attempts and yards in 2015, when he went 35-70 for 430 yards at Elkhart Memorial. Jensen was selected All-Northern Lakes Conference twice and Honorable Mention AP All-State twice.
Off the field, he has participated in Feed My Starving Children, the Race for Tracie, My Team Triumph, Flag Football and SNAG Golf.
Jensen is also part of the golf team and is working his way back after missing the start of the season due to shoulder surgery. He currently has a GPA of 11.98 on a 12-point scale, and he plans to study finance and entrepreneurship at Indiana Wesleyan. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy.
Jensen will play for Coach Jordan Langs and the Wildcat football team. In their first season, every player will be considered a “redshirt freshman.” Those 50 newcomers will be joined by 30 more in the fall of 2018, and the team will start playing a regular season schedule.
Jensen will be joined at IWU by Warsaw teammates D’Andre and Devin Street.
