Lady Squires Cruise To 5-0 TRC Win Over Northfield

WABASH – All five Manchester girls tennis positions won in straight sets, shutting out Northfield in a Three Rivers Conference match Thursday.
Karly Eichenauer won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Leiah Brandenberg dropped one game in each set to win at No. 2 singles. Kelsey Eichenauer won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
Bethany Collett and Lotte van der Ven won without dropping a game at No. 1 doubles, and Kendra Auler and Lydia Little won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
The Lady Squire junior varsity won all four of its matches.
Manchester is scheduled to play in the Homestead Invitational in Fort Wayne on Saturday.

Wildcats Outpace Wabash, Lakeland Christian
SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko had four double-winners and added four event wins to roll over Wabash 97-44 in Three Rivers Conference boys track Thursday. Lakeland Christian had a delegation there competing as a non-conference team and scored 11 points.
Garrett Elder won the long jump and 100-meter dash for Whitko. Gavin Howard won the shot put and discus, Zack Freel the high jump and 800, and Shad Ebbinghouse the 110 and 300 hurdles.
Alex Wilson won the 200 and joined Elder, Ebbinghouse and Chase Meade in winning the 4x100 relay. R.J. Patrick won the pole vault, and Elder, Freel, Ebbinghouse and Conner Sherwin teamed to win the 4x400 relay.
Lakeland Christian’s Matthew Helton won the 400 and was third in the 200. Sam Turner was fourth in the 3,200 for the Cougars.
Whitko competes in the Concord Relays on May 5. Lakeland Christian will have a meet with Fort Wayne Blackhawk and Elkhart Christian at Goshen College on Tuesday.

SOUTH WHITLEY – Playing without its normal No. 1 singles player, Whitko fell 5-0 to visiting Wabash in a Three Rivers Conference girls tennis match Thursday.
In the junior varsity match, Kayla Schipper was the lone winner for Whitko.
The Lady Wildcats are back in action Saturday at the Wabash Invitational.

Maconaquah Defeats Valley
AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley fell to visiting Maconaquah 5-0 in Three Rivers Conference girls tennis Thursday.
The Lady Vikings are scheduled to play in the Wabash Invitational Saturday.

Today’s Lady Tiger Softball Game Moved To Warsaw
DUNLAP – Due to the Elkhart County Landfill fire affecting air quality, Concord and Warsaw have agreed to switch sites for their two softball games.
Today’s 5 p.m. game, scheduled for the Concord campus, will now be played at the Tiger Athletic Complex. The game scheduled in Warsaw on May 15 will now be played at Concord.
