Cancer Benefit Dinner Planned May 13
A cancer benefit dinner for Rita Charles is planned at 4 p.m. May 13 at Pentecostal Lighthouse, 125 W Fawley St., Warsaw.
The event will include dinner, a bake sale, popcorn, cotton candy and gospel singing. Everyone is welcome.

Baked Steak Dinner May 5 In Claypool
CLAYPOOL — Claypool United Methodist Church is planning a baked steak dinner May 5.
The meal will be served from 4-7 p.m., and carryouts will be available. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for youth ages 7-12, and free for children 6 and younger. Anyone who brings a canned good will receive 50 cents off their meal.
Proceeds from the dinner will go to the church and its missions projects.
The church is at 302 E. Section St., Claypool.

Youth Revival Today Through Sunday
CLAYPOOL — Several events are planned for the “Speak Life” youth revival that begins today at Early Apostolic Training Center Ministries.
Tonight is inside-out night; attendees should wear their clothes inside out.
Friday’s theme is “no looking back”; youth should wear their clothes backward.
“Peculiar people” is the theme Saturday, so people are encouraged to wear their craziest outfit.
Each evening will begin at 6 p.m. and will include food, games and prizes.
The revival will conclude at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
Dean Ealey is  pastor of the church, which is on Ind. 15 at the overhead bridge near Claypool.

‘Pay To Shave’ Fundraiser Is Saturday
A “pay to shave” event Saturday will raise money for a local cancer patient.
During the event, men will shave their heads in support of Babette Sylvain, a single mom battling breast cancer. The event will include hot dogs, nachos, baked goods and a gospel sing.
The benefit begins at 3 p.m. Saturday at God’s Highway to Heaven Church, 555 Webber St., Warsaw.

Port-A-Pit Fundraiser Will Aid Missions
A two-day Nelson’s Port-A-Pit fundraiser will benefit Guatemala missions through His Hands and Feet International.
Chicken will be sold from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. or sold out Friday and Saturday at JB’s Furniture, 2101 E. Center St., Warsaw. Cost is $7 for Nelson’s chicken and $4 for Pit-Tatoes.
On Saturday, offerings will include pork chops for $7 and Amish fried pies in a variety of flavors for $4 each or three for $10.
Credit and debit cards will be accepted.
Trinity Mother-Daughter Banquet May 5
Trinity United Methodist Women will have their annual Mother-Daughter Banquet at 6:30 p.m. May 5 in the church’s fellowship hall.
Following a potluck supper, Sarah Mongosa Siders, the tribal secretary of the Miami Nation of Indiana, will present the program. She will also show tribal items and dress.

Local Author Will Sign Books Saturday
Local author Judith Walters will have a book signing for her new book, “Out of Darkness Into the Light.”
The signing will be from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at Warsaw Family Worship Center, 1250 Husky Trail, next to Martin’s Super Market.
Take the Husky Trail detour at U.S. 30 at R&B Car Co. to access the church.

NORTH MANCHESTER — North Manchester United Methodist Church, 306 E. Second St.,  invites the public to a baked steak dinner from 4:30-7 p.m. May 5.
Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 7-12. Carry-outs will be available.
