FORT WAYNE – John L. "Jack" Steinkamp, 74, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, Pa. 
Born in Seymour, Jack was the son of the late Glenn and Jean Steinkamp. He graduated from Indiana University with a doctorate in law and began working at what is now Lincoln Financial Group. He retired 36 years later as vice president and associate general council
He was a 28-year member of Faith Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, and was a member of the 707 Club in Media, Pa. Jack enjoyed the outdoors: golfing, traveling and taking daily walks. He loved to visit with family and friends and enjoyed all "woofers" he was privileged to meet. 
He loved learning and would constantly look for ways to educate himself. He was a kind, generous, big-hearted man who would give to and support anyone who was fortunate enough to know him or cross his path.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Linda J. Steinkamp, of Media, Pa.; children: John DePoy Steinkamp, Fort Wayne; Linda Louise Steinkamp, Parker, Colo.; Kenneth Lyman (Rafaela Hadba) Steinkamp, Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren: Kevin LaLone, Nicholas Steinkamp and Coen Fields; a sister, Susan (Ted) Reynolds, Fort Wayne; and a brother, Robert (Nicky) Steinkamp, Carlsbad, N.M. 
Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with viewing one hour prior. The Rev. Dr. Steven Roper will officiate.
Viewing hours will be Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at the funeral home from 2 to 5 p.m and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial is in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
