Wawasee Rallies For Walk-Off Win Over Elkhart Memorial
SYRACUSE – Senior Spencer Prescott had a two-run double, capping a six-run, seventh-inning rally in Wawasee’s 8-7 Northern Lakes Conference baseball win over visiting Elkhart Memorial Wednesday night.
Memorial broke a 2-2 tie with three runs in the fourth inning and two more in the fifth.
Prescott finished with two hits and three RBIs. Levi Brown had a pair of doubles, scored twice and drove in two runs. Jeremiah Bess doubled, singled, scored once and had an RBI.
Josh Slabaugh was the winning pitcher, going the last 3-2/3 innings and allowing a pair of earned runs. He walked one and struck out two.
The Warriors won the junior varsity game 11-6 over the Crimson Chargers. Tony Garcia had three hits and Brandon Baker finished with a pair of hits in the game.
Wawasee evened its record at 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the NLC. The Warriors travel to Nappanee to take on NorthWood in a conference game at 5 p.m. Friday.
Fast Start Helps Wawasee Win 16-3 Over Memorial
ELKHART – Wawasee scored nine times in the first inning, then put the run rule in effect with four more runs in the sixth frame for a 16-3 Northern Lakes Conference softball win Wednesday evening.
The Lady Warriors were aided by eight Elkhart Memorial errors in the game.
Amber Lemberg was the winning pitcher, allowing just two hits and striking out 10.
Hannah Haines had a triple and Kayla White doubled as part of the Lady Warrior 14-hit attack.
Now 8-1 overall and 2-0 in the NLC, Wawasee will host NorthWood Friday evening.

Tigers Fall To Goshen
Liam Patton had a grand slam and a double among his four hits in Warsaw’s 12-9 loss to Goshen in Northern Lakes Conference baseball Wednesday.
Bryce Sensibaugh and Luke Baker had two hits and two RBIs each for the Tigers.
In the junior varsity contest, Josh Ehrlinger drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh to hand Warsaw a 4-3 win over the RedHawks.
Joe Wilkinson was the winning pitcher, and Ian Glogovsky had three hits in the game. The Tiger J.V. improved to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in the NLC.
The Warsaw varsity team fell to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference. The Tigers host Plymouth in a 5 p.m. Friday conference game.
LaVille Edges Triton 3-2
LAKEVILLE – Hannah Wanemacher and Emma Ross remained undefeated at No. 1 doubles with a straight-set win in 13 games, but Triton’s girls tennis team fell 3-2 at LaVille in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference match Wednesday.
Senior Quinn Downing was the other Lady Trojan winner, taking a 6-0, 6-1 decision at No. 2 singles.
Triton fell to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference. The Lady Trojans have another HNAC match on Wednesday, hosting North Judson.

Triton Girls Split, Boys Swept in HNAC Track
BOURBON – Triton’s girls track team split in a three-way Hoosier North Athletic Conference track meet with Knox and LaVille, while the Trojan boys team lost twice Wednesday. The Lady Trojans’ 54 points were 12 fewer than Knox and four more than LaVille. The Knox boys team had 81 points to LaVille’s 53 and Triton’s 34 points.
Abigail Powell and Baylee McIntire were double winners for the Lady Trojans. Powell won the 100 and 300 hurdles and McIntire the 400-meter run and the long jump. Katie Hepler won the pole vault for Triton, and the 4x400 relay team won as well.
Tyler Heckaman was the lone boys winner, taking the high jump with a leap of 5-4.
Triton will compete in Friday’s Warrior Relays
Valley Hangs On To Win TRC Opener 6-5
DENVER – Visiting Tippecanoe Valley scored an insurance run in the seventh inning, then held off a late North Miami rally in the bottom of the inning to win 6-5 in the Vikings’ Three Rivers Conference baseball opener Wednesday.
Viking senior Alec Craig pitched all seven innings for the win. He struck out 11 Warrior hitters against four walks. Craig, Hunter Early, Lucas Walters and Keegan Larimer had multiple-hit games for Valley.
The Vikings improved to 3-1 overall and host South Bend Adams in a non-conference game today.
Lady Warriors Edge Valley
DENVER – North Miami scored three runs in the home half of the fifth inning and went on to an 8-6 win over Tippecanoe Valley in a Three Rivers Conference softball game Wednesday.
Freshman Ally Betten had three hits in four trips to the plate for the Lady Vikings, including a double. She also drove in three runs.
Kayla Scott had two hits and Kaitlin Shepherd scored twice for Valley.
The Lady Vikings host Adams Central for a non-conference doubleheader Saturday.

NORTH MANCHESTER – Brooklyn Howard struck out seven Wabash hitters in five shutout innings, and Manchester scored nine runs in the first two frames in rolling to a 10-0 win in Three Rivers Conference softball Wednesday.
The Lady Squires had nine hits in the game and were helped by four Wabash errors.
Now 7-0, Manchester will host Triton in a non-conference game at 5 p.m. today.
Sturtsman Leads Squires
NORTH MANCHESTER – Junior Hayes Sturtsman was the winning pitcher, collected two hits at the plate and drove in four runs in Manchester’s 11-1 six-inning win over Wabash in Wednesday’s Three Rivers Conference baseball opener for the Squires.
On the mound Sturtsman struck out eight, walked one and hit a batter. David McAtee and Trey McNall had two hits each in the victory.
“It was a good win to open conference play,” Manchester coach Jack Rupley said. “We played well defensively.”
The Squires (5-2 overall) host Columbia City in a non-conference game Friday.
Snep, Whitko Blank Lady Braves In TRC Softball
SOUTH WHITLEY – Sophomore Ellie Snep tossed a shutout, striking out five and walking one for Whitko in its 8-0 win over visiting Maconaquah in Wednesday’s Three Rivers Conference softball game.
Kennedy Krull and Kristina Slater had a double each in the Lady Wildcats’ nine-hit performance.
Whitko will host Central Noble in a non-conference game at 5 p.m. Friday.
Two TRC Tennis Matches Rained Out
A pair of Three Rivers Conference girls tennis matches were rained out Wednesday.
As of press time, no makeup dates have been set for either the Rochester at Whitko or the Manchester at Northfield matches.
Whitko will play at Columbia City on Monday, and Manchester is scheduled to host Wawasee today.
