PIERCETON — Pierceton United Methodist Church will welcome the award-winning Whitko Gospel Choir to its 9 a.m. worship service Sunday.
The church is at 502 N. First St., Pierceton. It is handicapped-accessible, with parking in the rear of the building.
Spring Fling Craft Show Saturday
Touch of Life Church is planning a Spring Fling Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The craft show will include more than 25 vendors. A bake sale is also planned, and concessions will be available.
The church is at 2339 W. Old Road 30, Warsaw.
Calvary UMC Having Hat Sunday
SYRACUSE — Calvary United Methodist Church is inviting churchgoers to wear their favorite hat Sunday during the 9 and 11 a.m. worship services.
"Hats may not be the current fashion, but at one time people had elaborate hats to wear to church, and we thought it would be fun to give people a chance to show them off and share their stories," said Pastor David Henry.
People will tell the stories and history that accompany their favorite hat during fellowship time from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday.
In addition to Hat Day, Sunday’s services will include special music by Calvary's bell choir.
Calvary UMC is at 801 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Contemporary worship is at 9 a.m. and traditional worship is at 11 a.m., with Sunday school for all ages at 10 a.m.
Trinity Mother-Daughter Banquet May 5
Trinity United Methodist Women will have their annual Mother-Daughter Banquet at 6:30 p.m. May 5 in the church’s fellowship hall.
Following a potluck supper, Sarah Mongosa Siders, the tribal secretary of the Miami Nation of Indiana, will present the program. She will also show tribal items and dress.
All women of the church and their guests are invited.
Local Author Will Sign Books April 29
Local author Judith Walters will have a book signing for her new book, “Out of Darkness Into the Light.”
The signing will be from 1-5 p.m. April 29 at Warsaw Family Worship Center, 1250 Husky Trail, next to Martin’s Super Market.
Husky Trail is closed because of construction; take CR 200N at U.S. 30, at R&B Car Co., then turn right on Husky trail.
Baked Steak Dinner Planned May 5
NORTH MANCHESTER — North Manchester United Methodist Church invites the public to a baked steak dinner from 4:30-7 p.m. May 5.
Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 7-12. Carry-outs will be available.
The church is at 306 E. Second St., North Manchester.
Ladies Tea April 30 at South Pleasant UMC
SILVER LAKE — South Pleasant United Methodist Church is planning its annual ladies tea from 2-4 p.m. April 30.
The program, sponsored by United Methodist Women, will be a celebration of summer and God’s blessings titled “Let The Sonshine In.”
The church is 3 miles south of Silver Lake on the west side of Ind. 15.
