Lady Viking Softball Gets Come-From-Behind Win
CULVER – After giving up a lead, Tippecanoe Valley scored 10 runs over the last four innings to beat Culver Community 13-7 in a non-conference softball game Monday.
Freshman Kirstyn Yoder had three hits and scored three times. Sydney Howard, Abby Betten, Alex Gomez and Kayla Scott had two hits each, and Betten drove in three runs.
The Lady Vikings travel to Denver to take on North Miami in a Three Rivers Conference game Wednesday.
Vikings Down Pioneer
ROYAL CENTER – Trailing 3-0 after three innings, Tippecanoe Valley tied the game in the top of the fourth, then took the lead with two in the sixth and added an insurance run in the seventh for a 6-3 win at Pioneer in a non-conference baseball game Monday.
Lucas Walters pitched seven innings, striking out 10 and walking one, and got the win. Alec Craig, Hunter Early and Adam Myers had multiple-hit games for the Vikings.
Now 2-1, Valley will travel to Denver for a Three Rivers Conference game at North Miami Wednesday.
Viking Golf Beats Knox
CULVER – Tippecanoe Valley earned its first boys golf win Monday, beating Knox 180-218 at Mystic Hills Golf Club.
Jeremy Julian was the medalist with a 40. Cade Brouyette recorded a 41, Chris Schipper had a 48, John Young a 51 and Bryce Madeford a 63.
Junior varsity scores include Austin Crill with a 46. Bryston Canada had a 51, Noah Hoffman a 55, Wyatt Hall a 56 and Billy Gillman a 69.
The Viking varsity squad now sits at 1-2 on the season, and will next travel to the Peru Municipal Golf Course on Thursday to take on North Miami and Caston.
Manchester Wins Twice
DENVER – Manchester picked up two wins in a three-way track meet Monday. The Lady Squires’ 68 points outdistanced North Miami’s 56 and Caston’s 32. In the boys meet, Manchester had 81 points, Caston had 48 and North Miami 27.
Tahnee Fuentes and Rae Bedke were double winners in the meet. Fuentes was first in the 100 and the 400 and added a second-place finish in the 200. Bedke won the 1,600 and 3,200. Bailey Sewell won the discus, and Manchester won all three relay races. Individual race results for the boys were not available as of press time.
The Lady Squires will compete in the Churubusco Relays on Saturday. The boys team is off until April 25 when it hosts Northfield, Whitko and Lakeland Christian.
Squires Fall At Oak Hill
CONVERSE – Kam Lester had two hits and drove in all three Manchester runs in its 6-3 loss at Oak Hill Monday.
David McAtee, Grant Strobe and Mason Meyer had a base hit each for the Squires.
“Errors hurt us a little tonight, and Oak Hill took advantage,” Manchester coach Jack Rupley said.
The Squire junior varsity beat visiting Columbia City 10-6 Monday. Kyle Shepherd was the winning pitcher, striking out four hitters in six innings.
Manchester’s varsity team (4-2) hosts Wabash in Three Rivers Conference play Wednesday.
Lady Zebras Beat Triton
ROCHESTER – Hannah Wanemacher and Emma Ross won at No. 1 doubles for Triton in its 4-1 loss at Rochester in a non-conference girls tennis match Monday.
Wanemacher and Ross beat Arrianah Jacobs and Rosalie Navarro 6-2, 6-1. Kolbie Mason dropped a three-set match to Rochester’s Zoe Bixler at No. 1 singles.
Triton (3-1) travels to South Whitley to take on Whitko in a non-conference match today.

Whitko Rolls Over Chargers
SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko scored all of its runs in the first three innings, then cruised to an 11-3 win over visiting West Noble in a non-conference baseball game Monday.
Zach Morris pitched the first four innings for the win. Bailey Platt threw the last three frames and picked up the save.
Alex Bechtold had two two-run singles in the contest. Drew Bradford and Austin Hollowell added a RBI single each.
Now 9-1 on the season, Whitko opens Three Rivers Conference play Wednesday when it hosts Maconaquah.

HUNTERTOWN – Kennedy Krull tripled, Shianna Bradley doubled, and Ellie Snep tripled and was the winning pitcher in Whitko’s 10-6 road win at Carroll Monday.
A four-run fourth inning gave the Lady Wildcats a 7-4 lead. Whitko scored an insurance run in the sixth and plated two in the seventh to secure the victory.
Whitko opens Three Rivers Conference play Wednesday, hosting Maconaquah.
Central Noble Tennis Downs Wawasee
SYRACUSE – Courtney Larson and Taylor Mock won at No. 2 doubles for Wawasee, but it was the only match the Lady Warriors won in a 4-1 loss to visiting Central Noble Monday.
In the junior varsity match, Kaitlyn Graber won at No. 2 singles in Wawasee’s 7-3 loss to the Lady Cougars. The Lady Warriors won at No. 1 doubles with Aurelia Stephens and Kennedy Church, and at No. 2 doubles with Brittney Jackson and Molly Jones.
Wawasee resumes Northern Lakes Conference play today when it hosts Concord at 4:30 p.m.
