Webster Man Held In Counterfeiting

Bradley Ray Slone, 29, of 208 S. Harrison St., North Webster, is charged with one count of counterfeiting, a level 6 felony.
On Aug. 14, North Webster police spoke with residents who were having a yard sale. The residents advised that two people made purchases with two $20 bills and one $5 bill, according to charging documents.
The residents gave the money to North?Webster police officer Candace Smythe, who recognized the bills as counterfeit.
The residents said the bills were counterfeit because the way they felt.
Officer Daniel May, North?Webster, said the bills were easily determined as counterfeit.
Slone gave the merchandise back, according to police.
When speaking with Slone, police say he admitted to police that he gave the bills to the other man. Police claim he gave three different stories on how he obtained the counterfeit money.
Slone was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail Thursday at 9:25 p.m. His bond was set at $5,850.
