The Warsaw boys tennis team claimed its fifth straight sectional title Thursday at the WCHS courts. The Tigers beat Whitko in the semifinals and Wawasee in the championship, each by a 5-0 score. The championship match was moved up a day due to the forecast for rain today.

In the semis, Warsaw lost just two games in four matches against Whitko, with an injury forfeit at No. 3 singles.
Wawasee had a bit of a tougher time with the Vikings, but all five matches were decided in straight sets. Nate Perek beat Eric Wright 6-2, 6-4 to give Wawasee the sweep of the singles matches.
After breezing through the first set, Wawasee’s Tim Conley and Evan Kruger won 6-0, 7-5 over Valley’s Garrett Feldman and Dakota Parker. The Vikings’ lone win came at No. 2 doubles, when Dylan Sponseller and Chris Schipper took a 6-4, 6-1 win over Jacob Krugman and Mason Gray.
In the championship match, Warsaw rolled to five straight-set wins. Colton Lind beat Staley 6-1, 6-2  at No. 1 singles, and Andrew Gauger took a 6-3, 6-2 win over Haines at No. 2 singles. David Homme won 6-1, 6-4 over Perek at No. 3 singles.
