John J. Roberts, 76, Warsaw, passed away Sept. 22, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
He was born March 31, 1940, in Hadley, Pa., to Floyd Melvin and Trella Irene Clevenger Roberts. Beginning on Dec. 4, 1965, he was married for 50 years to Janice Ann Croy Roberts, who survives in Warsaw.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County since 1965 and was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church of Warsaw.
He was a 1959 graduate of Conner Prairie High School in Hadley. He was inducted on Aug. 8, 1963, and served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was honorably discharged on Aug. 6, 1965.
He worked at Zimmer for 29 years as an inspector, retiring in 1995.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.
He will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters,  Kimberly (and husband Jeff) Miller, Pierceton, and Rebecca Linn Roberts, Warsaw; and two grandchildren, Ashlan (and husband Stephen) Cavender, Carmel, and Marine Pfc. Ethan Miller, Pierceton. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with Pastor Dave Cripe officiating. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126 of Warsaw and the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
