HS Roundup: Lady Tiger Cross Country Wraps Up Perfect NLC Season

Anna Craig and Allsion Miller finished 1-2 in the race, with Lauren Orr taking sixth and Megan Metzger eighth.
In the girls junior varsity race, Warsaw swept the top seven places in beating Concord and NorthWood by identical 15-50 scores. Lex Desenberg was the race winner for the Lady Tigers.
In the boys race, Zeb Hernandez, Xavi Ramirez and Lucas Howett swept the top three spots for the Tigers, leading Warsaw to a 23-33 win over Concord and a 17-45 win over NorthWood.
Taylor Mills and Nathaniel Gottschalk also eanred top-10 finishes, taking ninth and tenth place, respectively. The Tigers finished the NLC season with a 6-1 record.
Both teams head to the Culver Academies Invitational on Saturday. The course is the same one the sectional and regional races will be run on Oct. 8 and 15, respectively.

Lady Tigers Beat Carroll In 4 Sets
HUNTERTOWN – Nikki Parrett had 14 kills, and Alexie Day added 13 kills to power Warsaw to a 25-19, 18-25, 25-23, 25-17 non-conference win at Carroll Tuesday night.
Erin Peugh had 27 digs, and Brynn Durecki had a pair of aces to lead the Lady Tigers. Kacy Bragg had 27 assists in the match.
The Lady Tiger junior varsity improved its record to 15-2 with a 25-17, 25-21 victory, and the freshman team stayed unbeaten with a 25-9, 25-7 win over the Lady Chargers.
Warsaw (12-10) will travel to Syracuse for a Northern Lakes Conference match against Wawasee Thursday.

Tigers Fall At Canterbury, 3-2
FORT WAYNE – Eric Ocock tied the match in the first half with a goal off a pass from Payne Roger, and Blake Burns added an equalizer in the second half, but host Fort Wayne Canterbury scored the final goal in a 3-2 win over Warsaw Monday night.
Warsaw won the junior varsity match 1-0 on a goal by Adam Brown.
The Tigers (4-7-2) will travel to take on sixth-ranked Goshen in a Northern Lakes Conference match Thursday.
Valley Beats Whitko
SOUTH WHITLEY – Tippecanoe Valley got straight-set wins in both doubles matches, and won at No. 1 and No. 3 singles in beating host Whitko 4-1 in a Three Rivers Conference boys tennis match Tuesday.
The Vikings’ Dakota Parker and Garrett Feldman beat Austin Hollowell and Devon Akers at No. 1 doubles, and Valley’s Chris Schlipper and Dylan Sponseller won handily at No. 2 doubles.
Keith Wright needed 13 games to win at No. 1 singles. Eric Wright needed a 10-point set tiebreaker to win at No. 3 singles.
Cory Hersha won a tight match over Seth Hoffman for Whitko’s lone victory.
Whitko is right back at it today with a trip to Wabash for a TRC match. Valley hosts Manchester in a TRC match Thursday.

NORTH MANCHESTER – Nathan Self scored on a first-half penalty kick, and Harley Kruschwitz also scored in the first half to lead Manchester to a 2-0 win over Lakeland Christian Academy Tuesday night.
Kruschwitz scored off an assist from Fermin Guerrero.
Lakeland Christian goalkeeper Cross Williams had 13 saves in the match. The Cougars had the first shot on goal and the first corner kick, but had only five shots on goal in the match.
Manchester (6-3-1) hosts Peru in a Three Rivers Conference match Saturday. Lakeland Christian (6-4-1) hosts Tippecanoe Valley Thursday.
Wabash Beats Whitko In TRC Match
SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko fell to visiting Wabash, 27-25, 24-26, 27-25, 25-19, in a tightly contested Three Rivers Conference volleyball match Tuesday.
The Lady Wildcats host Hamilton Thursday evening.
Manchester Sweeps Lady Comets
FULTON – Kendra Auler had 16 assists and nine aces, and Cierra Carter had nine kills in Manchester’s 25-16, 25-6, 25-16 sweep at Caston Tuesday evening.
Emma West had 14 digs, and Sydney Day added eight kills and two aces for the Lady Squires.
The junior varsity match also went the Lady Squires’ way, coming from behind to win 24-25, 25-14, 15-3 over Caston. Halie Wampler had seven kills, seven aces and six assists, and Kara Kline had eight aces. Mackenzie Day had eight digs in the match.
After six matches and a tournament on the road, Manchester will host Macdonough in a Three Rivers Conference match Thursday.
Canterbury Downs Lakeland Christian
FORT WAYNE – Lakeland Christian had eight digs from Heather Plastow and six digs each from Sydney Hobbs and Bayley Wiley in its 25-11, 25-9, 25-17 loss at Fort Wayne Canterbury Tuesday.
The junior varsity match went to Canterbury, 25-15, 25-14.
The Lady Cougars hit the road Saturday to play in the Calumet Christian Classic.
Triton Sweeps LaVille
BOURBON – With a long, exciting middle set, Triton earned a 25-9, 33-31, 25-15 Hoosier North Athletic Conference win over LaVille at the Trojan Trench Tuesday.
Nichole Sechrist had 12 kills and 12 digs for the Lady Trojans. Courtney Jennings had 12 digs and eight kills, Hannah Wanemacher had 28 assists and Charlotte Morris added a pair of blocks.
The junior varsity match went to LaVille, 25-20, 25-22.
Triton hosts Argos on Thursday.
Wawasee Falls
GOSHEN – Sixth-ranked Goshen beat Wawasee 9-1 in a Northern Lakes Conference boys soccer match Tuesday.
Wawasee will host Lakeland Thursday.
