September 21, 2016 at 7:25 p.m.
By Staff Report-
Fifteen chairs were painted last spring by Manchester Junior-Senior High School eighth-graders under the direction of art teacher Hannah Burnworth. Students worked in teams to create designs for the theme “Hope is a Journey.” Members of North Manchester Congregational Christian Church completed final finishes and seat covers.
Proceeds from the auction, which will be on Market Street and conducted by Larry Miller of Miller Auction Services, will benefit Wabash County Cancer Society. The organization offers help with transportation for treatments, medicine or other expenses of those battling cancer.
Plans for the 2017 Chairs of Hope project are underway. Donations of sturdy wooden chairs and money to purchase paint, brushes and polyurethane would be appreciated.
