HS Roundup: Lady Squires Win First Golf Sectional Title Since 1973

Paced by Karly Eichenauer’s 91, the Lady Squires won the Huntington North Sectional at Norwood Golf Club Monday. The host school was second, four shots back. Southwood also advanced from the sectional, finishing third.
The sectional title was the first in girls golf at the school since 1973.
Kelsey Eichenauer posted a 92, Samantha Kissel a 93, Madyson Ulrey a 96 and Lydia Little at 98.
The Lady Squires will play in the East Noble Regional at Cobblestone Golf Club in Kendallville. Teams will tee off at 9 a.m.

NORTH MANCHESTER – Luke Donathan and Spence Trick won at No. 2 and 3 singles, respectively, and Uria Hein and Kyle Shepherd won at No. 2 doubles to give Manchester’s boys tennis team a 3-2 win over visiting Columbia City Monday.
Manchester (3-6) will travel to Bourbon to take on Triton at 5 p.m. today.

ROCHESTER – Manchester’s volleyball team was swept 25-4, 25-7, 25-10 at Rochester in Three Rivers Conference play Monday.
Cierra Carter had 2 kills for Manchester, with Kendra Auler adding 2 assists and Emma West getting 13 digs in the match.
The Lady Squire junior varsity lost its match 25-22, 25-20 to Rochester.
Manchester travels to Caston for a non-conference match today.

ROCHESTER – Lauren Metzger scored off a cross from Bethany Collette, and the goal stood up in Manchester’s 1-0 win over Rochester in a Three Rivers Conference girls soccer match Monday.
Next up for the Lady Squires in a TRC match at Maconaquah Wednesday.
Valley Wins At Whitko
SOUTH WHITELY – Harrison Vining scored on a penalty kick, and Ivan Santiago scored in the first half to lead visiting Tippecanoe Valley to a 2-0 win over Whitko in Three Rivers Conference boys soccer Monday.
Valley (4-7) will take on Lakeland Christian in Winona Lake on Thursday. Whitko travels to Marion to take on Eastbrook Wednesday.
Lady ‘Cats Play To Draw
GARRETT – Visiting Whitko and Garrett played to a 1-1 draw in a non-conference girls soccer match Monday.
The Lady Wildcats will play Eastbrook at Marion on Wednesday.

LIGONIER – Visiting Whitko got wins from Bailey Platt at No. 1 singles, Cory Hersha at No. 2 singles, and Micah Cokl at No. 3 singles to beat West Noble 3-2 in a non-conference boys tennis match Monday. It was the Wildcats’ second win this season.
Whitko hosts Tippecanoe Valley Tuesday in a Three Rivers Conference match.
Concord Beats Warsaw
DUNLAP – David Homme won at No. 3 singles for Warsaw, and the No. 2 doubles team of Spencer Britton and Hayden Steger won in straight sets for the Tigers in their 3-2 loss at Concord in the final Northern Lakes Conference boys tennis match of the regular season Monday.
All three of the matches the Tigers lost were in three sets.
Next up is the NLC Tournament at the Warsaw courts beginning Wednesday.
