FRANKFORT – Mildred W. Davis, 96, Frankfort, died Sept. 16, 2016, at Wesley Manor Health and Retirement Community.
She was born Feb. 11, 1920, in Hendrix County, to the late Otis A. and Helen Millikan Ward. On Jan. 17, 1941, in Thorntown Methodist Church, she married Herman Davis, who preceded her in death March 9, 1996. 
She was a 1938 graduate of Lebanon High School. A homemaker and farm wife, she also worked at Mann’s Turkey Farm. She attended Colfax Christian Church, was a member of Browns Wonder Christian Church since she was 10 years old, and was a member of Modern Mothers Club and AIM Northeast of Lebanon Homemakers extension. 
She was an excellent seamstress and loved gardening and flowers. 
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn (and spouse Dan) Smith, Frankfort; seven grandchildren: Becky Walker, Michigantown; Duane Davis, Shelbyville; Elaine Mellinger, Rossville; Greg Davis, Warsaw; Jennifer Lease, Warsaw; Sherry Patchett, Roseville; and Dale Davis, Gig Harbor, Wash.; 17 great-grandchildren and 11 great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded by a son, Alvin W. Davis; three sisters, Louise Perkins, Martha Long and Geneva Perkins; and two brothers, John C. Ward and Stephen Ward. 
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Goodwin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Colfax.  
Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
