Doris Marian Mitchell, 96, Warsaw, passed away at 9:44 a.m. Sept. 15, 2016, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester. 
She was born Oct. 28, 1919, in Baltimore, Md., to Adelia Schad and William Short. On March 27, 1942, she was married to Donald Cameron Mitchell, who passed away Oct. 3, 1993.
She worked as a secretary for a number of years.  
She and her husband had lived in Wheeling, W.Va., where they were members of Stone Presbyterian Church.  She moved to Warsaw 5-1-2 years ago and attended Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. 
She will be missed dearly. She was a great wife, mother and grandmother. 
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter,  Dorothy (and husband Mike) Herring, Warsaw; three sons: Donald Mitchell, Cincinnati, Ohio; David (and wife Karen) Mitchell, Conway, Ark.; and Douglas (and wife Liz) Mitchell, Cheney, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She also was preceded by her parents and a daughter, Diana Walthour, in 1991. 
No visitation or services are planned. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
