Solano’s first goal came at the 44-minute mark off an assist from junior Alyssa Brito. Sophomore Harrison Vining found Solano five minutes later for the game-winner.
Viking senior goalkeeper Fabian Mar had 12 saves in the match.
Valley improved to 3-7 in the season and earned its first win in five TRC matches. They will take on Whitko in South Whitley on Monday.
Lady Tigers Trounce Columbia City, 8-0
Sydney Wiedeman scored twice in the first 13 minutes, and the Lady Tigers rolled from there to take an 8-0 win over visiting Columbia City in a non-conference girls soccer match Thursday night.
Wiedeman was assisted by Olivia Herman on the first goal, and Brenna Buhrt on the second tally.
After the initial burst, Warsaw had a four-goals-in-six minutes stretch later in the first half. Delaney Taylor opened the stretch with a goal off an assist from Abby Steffensmeier. The duo reversed roles for Warsaw’s fourth goal, then Taylor scored a second goal off an assist from Wiedeman. Defender Breck Jackson found Dayle Harvey for a goal, and Jackson found Anna Grill for a seventh Lady Tiger goal in the 39th minute.
Kennedy Patton closed out the scoring in the 68th minute off an assist from Amanda West.
The Warsaw junior varsity lost its match 2-0 to the Lady Eagles.
Warsaw improved to 10-3 overall, and will host Fort Wayne Snider in a non-conference match Monday.

Cougars, Lakewood Park Play To Scoreless Tie
AUBURN – Lakeland Christian Academy junior goalkeeper Cross Williams had eight saves as the visiting Cougars played Lakewood Park Christian to a scoreless tie Thursday evening.
The Cougars moved to 5-3-1 overall, and will travel to Granger Christian School for a match Saturday.
Rochester Tops Valley Girls Golf
ROCHESTER – The Tippecanoe Valley girls golf team finished up its regular season with a 202-212 loss to Rochester in Three Rivers Conference play Thursday night at Mill Creek/Round Barn Golf Club.
Makayla Sandbakken paced the Lady vikings with a 49, followed by Victoria Biddle’s 50. Bethany Johnson shot a 56, Blake McBrier a 57 and Jade VanMeter a 59.
On the junior varsity level, Jordan Krotke shot a 63, Brianna McBrier a 71 and Kelsey Shafer a 79.
Rochester’s Kinley Lingenfelter was the medalist, shooting a 37.
Valley (7-15) will play in the Warsaw Sectional at Stonehenge on Saturday.
Warsaw VB Falls To Plymouth In 4 Sets
PLYMOUTH – Warsaw’s volleyball team suffered its first Northern Lakes Conferrence loss, 25-20, 25-18, 22-25, 25-21 at Plymouth Thursday night.
Erin Peugh had 23 digs and 3aces to lead the Lady Tigers. Nikki Parrett had 17 kills, and Kacy Bragg had 45 assists and a block for Warsaw.
The Lady Tiger JV lost 25-23, 25-22 to Plymouth. The freshman team won two matches to remain unbeaten; 25-23, 25-24 over Plymouth and 25-7. 25-13 over Culver Academies.
Warsaw will play in the Michigan City Invitational on Saturday.

WABASH – Whitko’s volleyball team lost a Three Rivers Conference match 25-16, 19-25, 25-21, 25-23 to host Southwood Thursday night.
Kaity Reed led the Lady Wildcats with 22 kills and two blocks. Haley Yohe added 41 assists and 17 digs, Kristina Slater had 18 digs and Haley Howard had two aces.
Whitko falls to 10-5 overall and 2-3 in the TRC. They will play in the Wawasee Invitational on Saturday.
Lady Bruins Beat Triton
BOURBON – Hannah Wanemacher had 23 assists, and Nicole Sechrist had 10 kills in Triton’s 21-25, 25-11, 25-19, 25-19 loss to visiting Bethany Christian Thursday.
Charlotte Morris had nine kills in the match. Courtney Jennings and Quinn Downing had 15 digs each to lead the Lady Trojans.
Bethany Christian also won the junior varsity match, 25-18, 25-16 over Triton.
Triton will host LaVille in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference match Monday.
Warsaw Beats Panthers
NAPPANEE – Warsaw narrowly missed a sweep, dropping just one three-set match, in beating host NorthWood 4-1 in a Northern Lakes Conference boys tennis match Thursday.
The four Tiger wins came in straight sets, with David Homme blanking Landon Holland at No. 3 singles. Andrew Gauger won 6-1, 7-6 at No. 2 singles. Ryan Wettschurack and Justin Stout won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles, and Hayden Steger and Spencer Britton won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Warsaw (8-5 overall, 5-1 NLC) will travel to Dunlap to take on Concord on Monday, with at least a share of the NLC regular-season title on the line.
