HUNTINGTON – Manchester’s girls golf team got top-10 finishes from all five of its players to win the Three Rivers Conference Tournament Saturday at Norwood Golf Club in Huntington.
Kelsey Eichenauer was third with a 90, Lydia Little finished fifth with a 94, Madyson Ulrey was seventh with a 96 and Karly Eichenauer was eighth with a 97. Samantha Kissel was tied for 10th at 100.
Paced by Victoria Biddle’s 95, good for sixth overall, Tippecanoe Valley finished seventh in the tourney. Makayla Sandbakken shot a 107, Blake McBrier a 118, Bethany Johnson a 138 and Jordan Krotke 139.
Whitko didn’t field a full team. Claire Reiff shot 104, Holly Hathaway a 115, and Makayla Compton a 139.
Manchester is off until the sectional Saturday at Norwood. Valley plays at LaVille today, and Whitko plays Warsaw and host Triton at Rozella Ford in Warsaw on Tuesday.

Warsaw 3rd, Wawasee 5th In NLC Tournament
NAPPANEE – Warsaw finished in third place, one shot behind runner-up Concord, and Wawasee was fifth in the Northern Lakes Conference girls golf tournament at McCormick Creek Saturday.
The Lady Tigers were paced by Madi Graham’s 91, good for ninth place overall. Delaney Wihebrink and Madelyn Ray each shot 93, and Page Desenberg and Izzy Ray each shot 101.
Aubrey Schmeltz was fourth overall with a 83, and Madison Beaman was 11th with a 92. Lesley Tayagua had a 109, Zoe White a 117 and Jadison Rostochak a 118 for the Lady Warriors.
Graham, Schmeltz and Beaman were named to the all-conference team.
Next up, Warsaw plays Whitko and host Triton at Rozella Ford Tuesday. Wawasee is off until the sectional at Stonehenge Golf Club in Warsaw on Saturday.

Tigers Fall To Munster
After Warsaw’s boys tennis tournament was cancelled due to rain Saturday, Munster beat the Tigers 4-1 in a dual match at Warsaw Tennis and Fitness.
David Homme was the lone winner for the Tigers, taking his match in straight sets at No. 3 singles.
Warsaw returns to Northern Lakes Conference play Tuesday when it hosts Wawasee.

LCA Bests Cornerstone
WINONA LAKE – Lakeland Christian’s Kyla Kohler had 18 assists, 15 digs, 11 kills and a pair of aces as the Lady Cougars beat Cornerstone Christian in a five-set volleyball thriller 25-17, 25-23, 21-25, 17-25, 21-19 Saturday evening.
Cami Dahms had 13 digs, eight kills, five aces and three assists in the match.
The Lady Cougars will hit the road to take on Greater Sports Michiana on Tuesday.

Triton 2nd In Its Tourney
BOURBON – Triton’s volleyball team finished second in its tournament Saturday.
The Lady Trojans beat Argos 25-4, 25-7; defeated LaVille 25-20, 26-24; and beat Oregon-Davis 25-11, 25-8 in pool play. John Glenn won the championship with a 25-16, 25-21 win over Triton.
The Lady Trojans will travel to Elkhart Christian for a match Tuesday.

Warsaw JV, Freshman VB Teams Win Tourneys
Warsaw’s junior varsity volleyball team won the Michigan City Invitational on Saturday, while the freshman team won its own invitational.
The Lady Tiger JV started out by defeating previously undefeated Penn 25-20, 24-25, 15-10; lost to Valpariaso 25-23. 10-25, 15-12; and defeated Kankakee Valley: 25-15, 25-12; then won the championship match over Munster 25-23, 14-25, 15-13.
The freshman team beat Muncie Central 25-14, 25-15; South Bend St Joseph 25-19, 25-20; Huntington North 25-10, 25-7 and Elkhart Memorial 25-24, 25-24 in the championship.

Lady Squires Edge West Noble, 1-0
NORTH MANCHESTER – Carsyn Howard scored a goal in the first half, and it was enough for Manchester to hold off West Noble 1-0 in a non-conference girls soccer match Saturday.
Goalkeeper Kiera Stacy had two saves and the shutout for Manchester.
The Lady Squires will host Whitko on Wednesday, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m.

Tiger Soccer Falls At Valpo
VALPARAISO – After a 90-minute rain delay, Warsaw’s boys soccer team lost 6-0 at Valparaiso Saturday.
The Tiger junior varsity won its match 3-0. Augustine Higaldo, Aden Wade and Elian Meija scored for Warsaw.
Warsaw (2-6-2) will host NorthWood in Northern Lakes Conference play Tuesday.

Wawasee Falls To Memorial, 7-1
ELKHART – Hunter Magiera scored off a free kick by Eric Yankowsky midway through the first half, but Wawasee couldn’t hold back host Elkhart Memorial in a 7-1 Northern Lakes Conference road loss Saturday.
The Warriors (2-6-1, 1-2 NLC) will host a non-conference match with Columbia City Wednesday.

Culver Academies Trip Lady Warriors
CULVER – Hannah Lancaster scored for Wawasee on an assist by Meg Heinisch in the Lady Warriors’ 6-1 loss at Culver Academies Saturday.
Wawasee (5-5) will host Elkhart Christian Thursday.

Whitko, Woodlan Play To Tie
WOODBURN – The Whitko Wildcat girls soccer team played to a scoreless tie with the Woodlan Warriors Saturday.
The Lady Wildcats will play a Three Rivers Conference match at Manchester, with kickoff set for 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Wildcats Fall To Warriors, 8-0
WOODBURN – Host Woodlan took an 8-0 win over Whitko in a non-conference boys soccer match Saturday.
Whitko freshman goalkeeper Nicholas Sanger was credited with 15 saves in the match.
The Wildcats resume Three rivers Conference play with a match at Manchester Wednesday.

Valley Sets GBB Fundraiser
AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball program will host a fundraiser at The Igloo, 108 W. Main St., Silver Lake, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Sept. 20. The business will donate 20 percent of the proceeds during the event to the program.
