WABASH – Manchester junior quarterback Hayes Sturtsman found classmate Devon Rooney for touchdowns of 69 and 34 yards in the Squires’ 28-14 loss at No. 12 Wabash (Class 2A, AP poll) Friday night in the Three Rivers Conference opener for both teams.
The Squires carried a 7-0 lead into the second quarter, but Wabash quarterback Sammy Hipskind threw a pair of touchdown passes of his own to bring the Apaches back.
Sophomore Delton Moore was the Squires’ leading rusher, getting 38 yards on eight carries.
Manchester (0-3 overall) plays the second of three straight road games Friday at Peru.
