Wagon Wheel Jr. Planning Halloween Show

October 28, 2016 at 7:13 p.m.

By Staff Report-

Wagon Wheel Jr., the youth theater branch of Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts, will present its 2016 Halloween show “Zombie Night” at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Each performance will be preceded by an open house at 12:30 p.m. The open house events will feature games, face painting, prizes and a costume contest, and are free with a ticket to the show.
According to a news release from the Wagon Wheel, “This doo-wopping musical pays great tribute to classic horror flicks like ‘Night of the Living Dead,’ ‘The Return of the Living Dead’ and ‘Cemetery High.’”
Howie, Louise, Gary and Phoebe are in charge of “Zombie Night,” the annual senior class party, the provided synopsis of the show states. They locate an abandoned farmhouse by an old graveyard, once occupied by the creepy, crawly Dr. Thanatos, who tried to re-animate the dead. Vivian and Anne show up, determined to destroy the party. Enter a grim farmer who warns the kids that it’s dangerous to stay. The audience soon discovers why – zombies! While the decorations go up, the zombies shuffle from the graveyard. It’s zombies versus students as the spoof races to its finale, the release states.
Tickets to the show are $12 and are available online at wagonwheelcenter.org, over the phone at 574-267-8041, or in person at the box office at 2515 E. Center St., Warsaw.

Chip Shots: How Callous IS It?
For every 700 to 1,000 words of mine you read on any given Saturday, I have a list of callous, cynical thoughts and remarks I can make about the topics I discuss… easily five-fold of what I allow past my filter and, in turn, e-mail to my editor.
