Marcus Wolfe, 19, never returned home after visiting his mother in Columbia City on July 25.
“It’s not like him to run off and disappear like this,” said Tammy Wolfe, his mother.
She said Marcus was over for dinner at her home in Columbia City. He was supposed to be on his way to his house in South Whitley because he was tired, but he hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
The candlelight and flashlight vigil will be led by David Heim, who was Marcus Wolfe’s mentor in the Big Brother Big Sister program. It will begin at 7 p.m. Tammy Wolfe expects from 50 to 100 people to show up. There will be plenty of extra candles and flashlights.
“It’s just been heartbreaking,” she said.
Prior to his disappearance, she said he would call or text her all the time. She said because her son is an adult, it can be difficult to gain support for her missing son. However, she did say the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office is in contact with her with two times a week. She said her daughter is also heartbroken by Marcus’ disappearance.
He is believed to be driving a two-door mid-’90s dark blue Saturn and was wearing either a green or red shirt that says Shoemaker Construction on it.
Anyone with any information on Marcus Wolfe can call the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office at 260-244-6410, Ext. 1.
