Tippecanoe Valley Hosts Forum For School Board Candidates

AKRON – Students from a political and economic studies class at Tippecanoe Valley High School will host a candidate forum at the Akron Community Center on Thursday.
The six candidates are competing for two spots on the Tippecanoe Valley School Board.
June Yazel, an English teacher at the high school, and Jeff Shriver, social studies department chair, have been working with students to plan the event.
“We started talking about the school board elections. They’re interested in how the school board works and where policy comes from,” said Yazel.
The forum will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the community center, 815 Rural St., Akron. Rita Price–Simpson, WRSW radio personality, will moderate the event. Light refreshments will be served.
