CARMEL – Robert L. Garman, 87, Carmel, passed away Oct. 12, 2016.
Born July 6, 1929, he was the son of the late Donald B. and Nellie Huffer Garman. He married Suzanne Stauffer in 1954.
He graduated from Claypool High School and received his bachelor's degree from Manchester College. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was an active registered securities broker and trusted adviser to his clients for over 60 years. He began his investment career with Thomson McKinnon Securities in 1956, working there for more than 40 years. He was a senior vice president for Prudential Securities until 2002, when he co-founded the Garman Investment Group with his son David.
He was an artist and loved to paint. He was passionate about the stock market and shared his knowledge by being a public speaker for over 200 investment clubs.
He is survived by a son, David Garman, Fishers; and a sister, Anita Dunlavy, Fort Wayne.
He was preceded by his loving wife, Suzanne; a son, Robert T. Garman; and a sister, Gene Marcus.
Shirley Brothers Fishers Castleton Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
