M. Max Gross, 91, Warsaw, passed away at 6:50 a.m. Oct. 18, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
He was born June 20, 1925, in Warsaw, to Earl and Katie Pearl Rapp Gross. On June 12, 1954, in Franklin, he married Georgia Marie Mishler, who passed away Nov. 15, 2011.
He was lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where he was a longtime member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Warsaw.  
He was a 1943 graduate of Leesburg High School, then proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946.  
He worked as the network general manager for United Telephone Co. and retired after 40 years of service. After retirement, he worked for AUL Insurance Co. for 20 years.  
He was a member of Warsaw Kiwanis Club, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Mizpah Shrine. 
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Bonnie (and husband John) Foresman, Spokane, Wash.; a son, Marlin (and wife Angela) Gross, Warsaw; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Walter Gross, Wildomar, Calif.; Lawrence (and wife Athalia) Gross, Pierceton; and Paul (and wife Shirley) Gross, Kansas City, Mo.
He was preceded by his parents; wife; a brother, William “Bill” Gross; a sister, Neva Gross; and a grandson, John Foresman. 
His funeral will be at noon Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Jeff Pfeifer. Burial will follow at South Whitley Cemetery, with military rites conducted by members of the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and Whitley County Korean War Veterans Honor Guard. 
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home.
