While the number of individuals in the community struggling with drug and alcohol issues continues to grow, the number of recovery beds available for those who desire to get help to rebuild their lives is inadequate, particularly for women, according to a news release from the K21 Health Foundation.
To help address this need, All Things New will soon open its doors and begin serving women caught in the cycle of addiction.
The faith-based organization received its non-profit status in 2015 and has since worked to raise funds and community awareness and to create a program for women seeking to overcome their addictions. All Things New purchased the former Riverwood Ranch property at the end of 2015, which has required a great deal of renovation in order to make the facility functional and to address structural improvements. A grant from K21 Health Foundation for $14,189 provided the funds needed to make several of the necessary repairs.
“We are grateful that K21 is partnering with us to help make our facility safe and secure for the women we will serve,” said ATN founder Bill Fawley. “Our purpose will be to teach women how to live their lives free from addictions so that they can regain their health and become self-sufficient. The program will address the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of our residents in hopes that they will no longer need to rely on alcohol or drugs.”
“Having quality facilities are an important part of the recovery process and we are pleased to help All Things New with these renovations as they prepare to offer this very needed service in our community,” said K21 CEO Rich Haddad.
K21 Health Foundation exists for the benefit of Kosciusko County citizens to ensure health care services are provided, and to advance prevention and healthy living, the news release states. For more information about the K21 Health Foundation, call 574-269-5188 or visit www.k21foundation.org.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are for people over the age of 70.5 years old. Unlike other distributions, which are taxed at ordinary income tax rates, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) allow for a tax-free distribution from an IRA, provided that the distribution goes directly to a qualified charity.
