ROCHESTER – Rodger L. Sherk, 73, Rochester, passed away at 11:05 p.m. Oct. 11, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver.
He was born Nov. 7, 1942, in Plymouth, to George and Beulah Beyler Sherk. On June 23, 1963, in Teegarden, he married Bonnie Cowen, who survives in Rochester.
He had worked on various farms over the years and retired from Wilson Fertilizer and Grain. He had been a member of Silver Creek Church of God and enjoyed farming and spending his time with his grandchildren.
Survivors also include his children: Beth (and husband John) Hilbert, Betsy (and husband Chris) Gardner and Ryan Sherk, all of Rochester; grandchildren: Kirsta and Caleb Gardner, both of Rochester, and Charity, Taylor and Braxton Sherk, all of Argos; a sister, Genie Dipert, Plymouth; a brother, Doug (and wife Kathy) Dipert, Walkerton; and several nieces and nephews. 
He was preceded by his father, George F. Sherk, in 1943; mother, Beulah Sherk Dipert, in 1987; stepfather, Paul Dipert, in 2008; and sister, Becky Dipert, on May 28, 2016.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Sand Hill Cemetery, Rochester, with Pastor Tom Craig and Chaplain Jason See officiating. 
Arrangements were by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester.
