SYRACUSE – John G. “Jack” Hamilton, DDS, MSD, 72, Syracuse, passed away at 3:40 p.m. Aug. 31, 2016, at Center for Hospice Care House, Elkhart. 
He was born June 29, 1944, in Fort Wayne, to Gerald J. and Lois M. Rondot Hamilton. On Aug. 28, 1965, in Fort Wayne, he was married to Diana K. Dellinger, who survives in Syracuse.
He graduated in 1962 from North Side High School in Fort Wayne and from Indiana University in Bloomington and Indianapolis. He retired in 2000 after 28 years of service as a licensed orthodontist who had worked in the Fort Wayne, Churubusco and Warsaw areas. 
He spent his last days at his beloved Lake Wawasee home. 
He was a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, former president of Isaac Knapp DDS International College of Dentists, Great Lakes Society of Orthodontists, Indiana Association of Orthodontists, Omicron Kappa Upsilon fraternity, Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, Santaluz Club in San Diego and the Inland Lakes Snowmobile Club. 
He also is survived by two sons, Christopher J. (and spouse Elizabeth) Hamilton, San Diego, and Jeremy E. (and spouse Megan) Hamilton of Indianapolis; and three grandsons: Spencer, Henry and Brooks. He was preceded by his parents. 
A celebration of life service and luncheon will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pine Valley Country Club, Fort Wayne.
Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
