Former Warsaw Woman Gives Aid To Haitian Hurricane Victims

After hurricane Matthew hit Haiti, Todd Anderson,?Warsaw, said it was a few days before he heard from his sister.
“She was finally able to get a hold of me and tell me she was alive,” he said.
He said his sister reported utter devastation in the town of Jeremie where she resides.  She told him that just about every building that wasn’t made of concrete is down, he said. 
Jeremie is a town of about 30,000 people. Before the storm hit, Todd said he had called his sister and told her to be ready for the storm. 
Lindsay Anderson, a Warsaw Community High School graduate who works with a church out of California called The Rock, began preparing meals and supplies. Todd said she has passed out somewhere between 110,000 to 120,000 meals since the hurricane hit Jeremie.  
Lindsay has been passing out meals and providing other basic needs for the people in her city, he said. 
Todd said there are about 135 confirmed dead in the city, but the countryside has not been checked yet. 
Todd is planning on flying to Haiti this weekend to bring basic supplies to his sister and the residents of Jeremie.
Lindsay began living in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. 
After the quake, Todd said his friend, Tyler Silveus, became aware that Warsaw resident Frank Courtois, a Haitian native, still had family in Haiti.
Through the Warsaw flying club, John?Fussell flew the group – including Lindsay –  down to the country to assist with the diaster.
Todd said his sister just stayed.  “She loves the Haitian people, and they love her. She’ll never leave,” he said “Any chance she gets she helps kids who need it, “ he said.
