KOKOMO ­– Josephine “Jo” Reprogle, 80, Kokomo, passed away on Sunday morning, Oct. 2, 2016, at her home.
She was born April 26, 1936, in Plymouth, to John and Fawn Heisler. She grew up in Etna Green, where she met and married her husband of 61 years, Richard “Dick” Reprogle.
She and Richard lived in the Kokomo area for the past 55 years, raising a family and becoming an active part of the community. She worked for the Northern Community School system for 20 years as an administrator in the main office, retiring in 1997 to spend more time with her family and friends, travel and hobbies. She and Dick attended Windfall United Methodist Church.
She loved the beauty of nature. She enjoyed gardening, watching her hummingbirds and traveling with Richard to explore new places and seeing far-flung friends and relatives. She cherished her family, always making time to make memories with her adult children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Reprogle; sons Michael Reprogle (and spouse Kristi) and Matthew Reprogle (and spouse Karen); daughters, Denise Rosenthal (and spouse David) and Angela Shockney (and spouse Brian); and 11 grandchildren: Lindsey Reprogle, Joshua Reprogle, Tara Reprogle, Briana Reprogle, Riley Reprogle, Dawson Reprogle, Erin Rosenthal, Justin Rosenthal, Jacob Shockney, Sarah Shockney and Rachel Shockney. She was preceded by her parents, and grandchildren John, Erik and Nicole Reprogle.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery, Phlox.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
