SOUTH BEND – Stanley Richard Galbreath, 87, passed away Sept. 29, 2016, after a short illness.
He was born June 4, 1929, in Pierceton, to Royce and Bonnie Faye Kissinger Galbreath, now deceased.
He retired in 1990 and moved to Sebring, Fla., where he pursued his hobbies of billiards, horseshoes, bowling, shuffleboard, playing cards and fishing. In 2008, Stan moved to South Bend with his wife, Nancy, where he enjoyed the company of many friends, as well as his hobbies. He was a two-time past master of Pierceton Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his second wife, Nancy Mann Galbreath, whom he married April 9, 2008. Also surviving are two daughters, Elaine McGue, of Erlanger, Ky., and Linda (and spouse William R. Jr.) Cummings, Gilbert, Ariz.; and two stepchildren, Ryan (and spouse Lucy) Lane, Indianapolis, and Val Lane, South Bend; three grandsons: John Loper Jr., Peter Randall Loper and Jerome Wade Loper; a granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn (and spouse James) Szobody; two stepgrandchildren, Savannah and Hannah Lane; a great-grandson; a great-great-grandson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his first wife of 50 years, Charlotte Mae; a daughter, Peggy Jo (and spouse John Sr.) Loper; a stepson, Jim Lane; a brother, Robert; and four sisters: Mary Stouder, Betty Evans, Ruth Davis and Inez Deveny.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
