HS Roundup: Tippecanoe Valley Soccer Season Ends With 3-1 Loss

Viking senior midfielder Ivan Santiago broke the Valley shutout with a goal in the 75th minute. Goalkeeper Fabian Mar had 15 saves in the match.
The Vikings completed their first season as a full-fleged member of the IHSAA with a 4-12-1 record. Bremen will take on host Argos, a 9-0 winner over Oregon-Davis, in one semifinal at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Lakeland Christian plays Culver Community in the other semifinal.
Lady Zebras Down Valley
AKRON – Visiting Rochester swept Three Rivers Conference rival Tippecanoe Valley 25-23, 25-12, 25-20 in a volleyball match Monday evening.
Sophie Bussard and Abby Betten had six kills each for the Lady Vikings, and Emily Peterson had 16 assists.
The junior varsity match went to Valley 25-18, 25-16 over the Lady Zebras. Allison Betten had five aces and four digs in the contest.
Next up for Valley (17-10, 2-5 TRC) is a trip to South Whitley to take on Whitko in a TRC match on Wednesday.

Lady Wildcat Season Ends
HARTFORD CITY – Playing to a 1-1 tie for the first 71 minutes of the girls soccer match, Eastbrook scored twice in the final nine minutes to secure a 3-1 win over Whitko in the 1A Blackford Sectional Monday evening.
Whitko’s Emily Oliphant got the Lady Wildcats on the board first with a goal early in the match. Head coach Gary Sims said fatigue began to set in as the match progressed, giving Eastbrook the opening it needed to secure the victory.
Eastbrook moves on to the semifinals, where it will play Oak Hill, a 4-0 victor over Peru. Manchester plays its first round game in the sectional at 5 p.m. tonight against Maconaquah.
Whitko VB Beats Northfield
WABASH – Whitko’s volleyball team won the last two sets to take a 25-23, 16-25, 25-22, 25-13 victory over Northfield in a Three Rivers Conference match Monday night.
Lady Wildcat senior Kaity Reed had 30 kills and 21 digs in the match. Kristina Slater had 28 digs and a pair of aces, and Lyndsey Sapp had eight kills and three blocks.
Haley Yohe led Whitko with 41 assists, and Brianna Tackett had eight kills. Haley Howard contributed a pair of aces in the win.
Whitko (18-9 overall) hosts Tippecanoe Valley in a TRC match Wednesday.
Lady Squires Come From Behind To Beat Oak Hill
CONVERSE – After dropping the first two sets, visiting Manchester came back to win three straight and beat Oak Hill 27-29, 16-25, 25-15, 25-23, 15-11 in a non-conference volleyball match Monday.
Cierra Carter led Manchester with 21 kills, 24 digs and five aces. Kendra Auler had 14 digs and an ace in the match.
The junior varsity won a close match, 25-22, 25-20 over the Lady Norse. Kara Kline led the Lady Squires with 11 digs, a kill and two aces.
Next up for the Lady Squires (10-15) is a home match with Winamac today.
