On Sept. 26, 1920, she was born in Marion, to Arthur and Irene Phillips Wiley. She was united in marriage to Chester Walter, who preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Marion High School, and also a member of Eastern Star. She worked as a bank teller for First National Bank from 1944 until her retirement in 1988.
She is survived by two sons, Phillip Walter, Warsaw, and Paul Richard Walter, Bristol; her brother, Ralph Wiley, Ocala, Fla.; four grandchildren: Ryan (and spouse Kim) Walter, Brighton, Colo.; Bradley (and spouse Ann) Walter, Knoxville, Tenn.; Justin (and companion Adrianne) Walter, Warsaw; Andy (and spouse Carol) Walter, Georgetown, Texas; and eight great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Walter; four brothers, Vern, LaVelle, Arthur Gale and Charles Wiley.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral chapel.
