He was born Feb. 26, 1940, in Warsaw, to Bruce Sr. and Isabella Blodgette Hyde. He married Janet Geller on Oct. 30, 1965; she survives.
He honorably served in the United States Army and retired from Warsaw Foundry, where he worked for many years. He enjoyed being outside, whether it was fishing, hunting, boating or camping. He enjoyed racing at the Warsaw Speedway, but most of all loved his kids and family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janet; five children: William N. (spouse Janice) Hyde, Pierceton; William M. Jr. (spouse Dawn) Hyde, Sidney; Melvin (spouse Kathy) Jordan, California; and Sue Thomas and Jeanette (spouse Larry) Wood, both of Warsaw; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Bruce Jr. (spouse Sharon) Hyde, Warsaw; and three sisters: Esther Zimmerman; Palestine, and Glenda Wood and Jean (spouse Bob) Campbell, both of Warsaw.
He was preceded by his parents; a grandson, Kaleb; two brothers; and two sisters.

Arrangements were entrusted to Heritage Funeral and Cremation Services, Warsaw.
