New Fire Station

Since the number of fire calls is going down and the vast majority of calls are rescue calls, why not build a rescue station instead of a fire station?
It was said that if Wayne Township did not commit to paying $100,000 per year on the bond, that the project would not go forward. Wayne Township does not feel they are in a position to commit to paying any particular amount per year. Up until now we have planned on Warsaw paying $200,000 per year on the bond. It looks like Warsaw would end up paying $200,000 to $300,000 per year.
The above points are all about the bond for the building.  My biggest concerns are the ongoing additional operating cost per year. The projected additional $1,000,000-plus per year of operating cost will be separate and over and above the cost of the bond. How much less would this be if it was a rescue station?
We should establish what we really need and what it will cost to build and operate each year. Then we should decide if we are comfortable with these costs before resolving to go forward.
The last opportunity for public input is Monday night at 7 p.m. in Warsaw City Hall at the southwest corner of Buffalo and Center streets.
