Downtown Blaze Hits 2 Buildings In Manchester

The fire that began at the Brewhouse spread and destroyed the second story of the neighboring building at 218 E.?Main St. Heat and smoke caused damage to other nearby apartments, according to North Manchester Fire Department Chief Cam Kissinger. There were no injuries reported, he said.
Firefighters responded to the call at 4:40 a.m.?Saturday. Firefighters had the fire under control in about 2-1/2 hours and units were on scene until 1:45 p.m.?Saturday.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Kissinger said.
Fire departments from Chester Township, Pleasant Township, Urbana, Roann,?Sidney, Silver Lake and Wabash responded to the scene. Department of Homeland Security Fire investigation, North?Manchester Police Department, Wabash?County?Sheriff’s Department, Parkview EMS and Wabash County Emergency Management also assisted at the scene.
