AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley announced its fall sports awards winners this week.
In girls golf, Victoria Biddle was the medalist, won the putting award and along with Blake McBrier was team captain. Bethany Johnson won the mental attitude award, Makayla Sandbakken was most improved, and Jordan Krotke was the Booster Club award winner. Brianna McBrier was the junior varsity medalist.
Captain Keith Wright led the awards for boys tennis at No. 1 singles and won the Booster Club award. Dylan Sponseller and Chris Schipper had the best record. Eric Wright and Seth Hoffman were most improved.
The most valuable players on the cross country teams were Valeria Jiminez and Justin Peconga. Alyssa Bell and Colt Demske were most improved. Mental attitude awards went to Tori Miller, Abbi Miller, and Mitchell Smith. Booster club awards went to captains Lexi Durkes and Jared Mikel. Abbi Miller and Tori Miller also served as captains.
Co-captain Sophie Bussard had the most blocks on the volleyball team. Abby Betten was also a co-captain and had the most kills, most digs and the highest passing percentage. Emily Peterson was the third co-captain and had the most assists and the best kill efficiency. Olivia Trippiedi had the highest serving percentage, Makenzie Woodcox was the most improved and Shayleigh Shriver won the mental attitude award. The Booster Club Award went to Hannah Jansma.
Wes Melanson was the most valuable linebacker on the football team. Hunter Hyden and Austin Vining were MVP linemen, and Devin Bandow was MVP of the secondary. Bryce Webster and Jarod Duzenbery were MVP’s of the receiving corps, and DJ Heckman was the most valuable offensive back. Domingo Santiago was MVP of special teams. Alec Craig was the team MVP. Tanner Trippiedi was most improved, Dylan Warner won the Booster Club award and Avander Wimsatt won the mental attitude award. Iron man awards went to Dalton Webb, Brandt Norris, Hunter Hyden and Dakota Myers. The entire team was presented with the Warrior award.
Harrison Vining won the mental attitude award for the soccer team, and Drew Hartman was most improved. The offensive MVP was Tom Solano, and the defensive MVP was Fabian Mar. Adrian Velazquez won the spirit award, and Ivan Santiago was the team MVP. Alyssa Brito was the Booster Club award winner. Brito and Solano were team captains.
Laira Myers was the Booster Club award winner for cheerleading.
