On Monday, the WCS Board of Trustees unanimously approved Ebbinghouse to take the new position.
Brandon Penrod, WCS chief financial officer, said Ebbinghouse was well qualified and had lots of accounting experience to bring to WCS.
In other business, Eisenhower Elementary gave a report on its dual immersion program.
The program has students spend half the day in an English classroom and the other half in a Spanish classroom, allowing children to learn both languages.
Principal Chris Gensinger said the students should be at fluency in both languages by third or fourth grade.
The students demonstrated their Spanish to the board that they had learned in only three months.
“It’s really impressive that they come this far in such short time,” said board member Randy Polston.
The Manufacturing Monday Club also presented to the board. The club at Warsaw Community High School consists of students who use thier welding and woodworking skills to make items.
Rikki Oland, the secretary treasurer for the club, told the school board they make items and learn to sell them at a profit.
She said the skills she’s learning in the club can translate to a job right out of high school.
