Hoffert’s contract has a base salary of $156,100. Including his benefits package — health care, 401(k) match and cellphone reimbursement — his total compensation will be $173,342.
A public hearing on the contract was held Oct.17.
In other business, Dani Barkey, chief accountability officer, discussed the University of Virginia Partnerships for Education Program.

If WCS?enters into a partnership with the college, the college will work with the district to pick a specific plan for the school.
“The best thing about it is they tailor the plan to us individually,” Barkey said.
If approved, the program would begin with a four-year contract with one year of planning.
