North Webster American Legion Post 253 To Honor Veterans

NORTH WEBSTER – Veterans Day is Friday, and the North Webster Legion color guard will honor all veterans at the following times and locations.
• 8:30 a.m., Oswego Cemetery
• 9 a.m., Oak Grove Cemetery
• 9:30 a.m., Salem Cemetery
• 10 a.m., Mock Cemetery
• 10:30 a.m., North Webster Post 253
• 11 a.m., North Webster Cemetery
The North Webster American Legion Post 253 invite all veterans and their families to attend any of the Veterans Day ceremonies on Friday.
The Legion also will serve free ham and beans and corn bread to all veterans, starting at 11 a.m. at the Legion Post. Ham and beans and corn bread will be served until gone.
In the evening at the Post, the kitchen will be open starting at 5 p.m., and closing at 7:45 p.m. Short Term Memories will entertain guest and members starting at 8 p.m.
Short Term Memories also will hold a jam session at 2 p.m. Sunday. This is a fundraising event to assist local service men and women, both active and retired. The Ladies Auxiliary will host an all-you-care-to-eat pizza buffet starting at 11 a.m. Sunday and serving until at least 3 p.m.
Just a few other things that are happening at the Legion is Bingo every Thursday night with early bird starting at 6 p.m. On Nov. 18. Tiger Trivia will be at the Post, hosting a trivia contest. This is open to the public, so create a team to compete to win cash prizes. Come in for dinner and stay for trivia that will start around 6:30 p.m.
Ask about tickets for the Mossberg 500 Special Hunter 12 Gauge Pump Shotgun. Drawing will take place on Thanksgiving Day.
Speaking of Thanksgiving, did you know you can come to the Legion for a free homecooked traditional Thanksgiving dinner? The public is invited to enjoy this free dinner starting at noon, and food will be served until 3 p.m. or gone. Bring a non-perishable item to support the North Webster Food Pantry.
