MILFORD – Lorene F. Lehman Stookey, 89, Leesburg, left Kosciusko Community Hospital to be with The Lord on Thursday evening, Nov. 3, 2016.
She was born June 16, 1927, in Kosciusko County, the daughter of George Leroy and Christine Kammerer Lehman.
She graduated from Leesburg High School the same year as her husband-to-be, Martin E. Stookey, and they were joined together in holy matrimony on May 29, 1948.
She was a member of Milford Apostolic Church, and retired from the Kosciusko ASCS office in Warsaw. 
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Martin E. Stookey, Leesburg; two sons, Martin E. “Butch” (and spouse Kathleen) Stookey Jr., and Randy (and spouse Marlene) Stookey, both of Warsaw; seven grandchildren: Laurie (and spouse David) Miller, Fort Wayne; Rhonda (and Bill Cary) Stookey; Jeffrey (and spouse Katja) Stookey, Hershey, Pa.; Bobi Stookey, Fort Wayne; Zachary (and spouse Steffanie) Stookey, North Webster; Jeremy (and spouse Samantha) Stookey, Syracuse; Justin Stookey, Warsaw; 15 great-grandchildren: Cody, Brittany, Stephon, Ashton, Nicolas, Allison, Lydia, Drake, Emily, Rylan, Scott, Emileah, Meghan, Lauren; and three siblings: Edna Lehman, Warsaw; Leroy Lehman, Milford; Howard Lehman, Fort Meyers, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Helen Roberts.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Milford Apostolic Church, 201 N. Higbee St., Milford, with Pastor Randy Beer officiating. Burial will follow at Leesburg Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Mishler Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 461 W. 900N, Milford.
