Warsaw Board of Zoning Appeals Monday approved a variance of use to allow a church in a general business zoning district in Warsaw.

The board approved the request from petitioner Henry Miller, representing Church of Christ, to permit a church at 205 Enterprise Drive.

Board President Bruce Woodward said Warsaw Plan Commission will need to review and approve the church development plan.

Miller said plans are for the church to seat 160 people, and the building will be 6,000 to 8,000 square feet.

In other business, petitioners Scott and Jodi Feather requested a variance from development standards to allow for a 6-foot side yard setback from the required 7-foot side yard setback. The couple also requested a 1-foot, 6-inch variance to construct an addition of an attached garage at 635 N. Johnson Street. The board approved the requests.

Board members are Tom Allen, Dan Hampton, Tom Heuer, Rick Keeven and Woodward.

The board will meet again July 28 at 7 p.m. at city hall.
