By Staff Report-

On Jan. 7, the Kosciusko Community YMCA will offer an open day for the community to come in and find out more about membership and what it means to be involved with the YMCA.
This open house will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will include membership incentives, giveaways and  activities for everyone.
The YMCA is hoping to help new members understand what the YMCA mission is all about by giving them an opportunity to give back and support their neighbors.
Those interested in a new membership can bring in non-perishable food items and receive $5 off their joiner's fee for each one, up to $25. The YMCA loves to connect members with ways they can serve their community.
The YMCA wants to help new members get committed and connected when they join, so new members joining Jan. 7 can try a 60 in 6 challenge.
If a new member comes to the YMCA and works out 60 times in the first six months they are a member, they will earn back their joiner’s fee.
On Jan. 7, there will be free admission to all three of the YMCA branches, in Warsaw on Smith Street, north of Warsaw on Ind. 15 and in North Webster.
Activities include a YMCA logo hide-and-seek, a craft for children, open climbing wall and open swim. There also will be a free dance workshop for ages 4 to 6 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. and for ages 6 to 14 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Indoor Group Cycling will be offered free to everyone from 8 to 9 a.m. and again from 9:20 to 10:40 a.m.[[In-content Ad]]Aerobic Diversity will be from 9 to 11 a.m. and will offer a glimpse of several instructors and styles of aerobic exercise.
Anyone is welcome to try out all or just part of the class and get a feel for what classes they might want to sign up for in the future.
WRSW will be on site at the Smith Street Branch to interview members about their YMCA stories. An American Red Cross Blood Drive will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and people can sign up at www.givelife.org
The YMCA’s Racquet Center will hold a free Cardio Tennis class from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and again from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
