By Staff Report-

As part of the YMCA’s focus on social responsibility, the Y wants to offer the community opportunities to give back and serve their neighbors, according to a press release from the organization.
Togetherhood™ is the Y’s signature program for social responsibility and invites Y members to lead and participate in volunteer service projects that benefit the community where they live.
The next Togetherhood project will be April 23, serving Y members who, due to medical issues or other life circumstance, might have trouble with home maintenance. This might involve indoor cleaning, moving furniture, washing windows or may be raking or preparing garden beds outdoors.
The Y is looking for 30 to 40 volunteers, who do not have to be a member to volunteer. Register at the Welcome Center for the Y Member Day of Caring April 23 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The Kosciusko Community YMCA also will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive April 23 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The drive will be at its Parkview Warsaw YMCA location on Mariners Drive in the Parkview Center for Healthy Living in the lobby. Sign up for an appointment at www.recrossblood.org. Walk-ins will be accepted.
CPR classes will be offered to the community May 17 and June 7, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. If you need CPR certification for a job or just want to be more prepared to handle an emergency, sign up for this American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR class. The class will teach adult, child and infant CPR and AED use. This three-hour class provides a two-year certification. Contact the Welcome Center to register by May 14 or June 4. There is a cost for participation and certification.
Registration for these special events is going on now at the North Webster or the Parkview Warsaw YMCA branch or online at www.kcymca.org.
The Y is the leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, according to the release. All the efforts and offerings of the Kosciusko Community YMCA are guided by the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Every day, the Y works side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure everyone regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.  In 2016, the Kosciusko Community YMCA provided $168,201 in financial assistance, the release states.[[In-content Ad]]
